Bio-remediation of soil

Advantages
  • The use of dedicated bacteria for bio-remediation is a natural process with natural bacteria specially selected for accelerated natural degradation.
  • The selected bacteria are all natural and specifically pathogen free with no hazard to human life.
  • The action of the bacteria on the selected waste is to produce small amounts of carbon dioxide, water and a trace of citric acid.  Carbon dioxide inhibits any risk of explosion from volatile gases.
  • Can minimize the amount of residue sent for disposal by as much as 80% with only inorganic materials left.
  • Compared to using chemicals as a means of disposal, bio techniques are extremely cost effective.
  • The technique is very environmentally friendly.

Case studies

Oil contamination of 1000 gallons
Plaxton Greenhouse, Nr Beverley, Yorkshire

Spillage into the greenhouse.  The choices were to dismantle the greenhouse and dig it out or bio-remediate.  Bioremediation was the cheapest option with little site disruption.
